  Let me tell you about the fantastic experience I had working with Shawn for my June 2017 wedding.

  Shawn went totally beyond expectations, even stepping in to assisted my mom with the corset lacing. I very lucky he was there; having it tied properly was important for the dress shape, as well as fit. In the excitement of the day it was a bit complicated and beyond my Mom.

  I booked this salon for hair and makeup for my wedding day. I did a lot of research in picking the perfect place and finally decided to book this salon. I spoke to the owner on the phone and I thought he was great. He assured me that he would be there for our hair and makeup and I assumed he was the one that would be doing it. He said he would show up with a team. I was never told otherwise. the day before my wedding I received a phone call from a local hair salon to me (I live in Oshawa and needed a team to show up to our venue in Haliburton). They told me that they would be coming to do my hair, they were from Whitby. I was shocked and surprised because I had booked ommmh beauty boutique and now a day before my wedding i'm being called by another salon. Their pricing was different than what I had agreed on with Shawn. I had also chosen ommmh because they were close to my venue. By this point there was nothing I could do so I just went with it, I asked them if they would be doing makeup too and they were confused and said they didn't know anything about makeup. At this point I started to panic. They then called me back and told me that Ommmh would be sending makeup artists from their salon. I still had not heard a word from Ommmh, the salon I actually booked. So I figured at this point there was nothing I could do but hope that someone shows up. The day of the wedding came and 2 hair stylists and 2 makeup artists showed up. I was surprised to hear that only one of the makeup artists were from Ommmh and everyone else was out-sourced. One of the makeup artists told me she was not actually booked until 2 days before my wedding. This could have been a big disaster. In the end the makeup artists ended up giving me my makeup for free for the trouble, which I thought was a nice gesture, but it was their gesture not Ommh's. Most of the girls didn't like their makeup and ended up going back to their rooms to touch it up. Some liked their hair while some didn't. My mom just gave up on trying to get them to make her hair look good, and I agree, the end result was nothing special. My hair took quite a bit of work to get it to where I wanted it to be, and their attitudes weren't the greatest when I told them I didn't love it at first. I can only comment on the services of Ommmh by the one makeup artist from this salon, and she did an okay job, but nobody that got their makeup done from her was happy with it. In summary, at least someone showed up, they did an okay job and I still to date I have not heard a word from Ommmh Beauty Boutique, the salon I actually booked. I guess they don't care about reviews or customer happiness. I got married in September and waited before posting this review, but since i'm yet to hear from them, I figured it was time. Be careful in booking them for your wedding, you can't really guarantee what you're going to get.

  My hair and make-up trial went exceptionally well in early May, and was really able to delivered exactly the look I wanted. He really listen to what I wanted, and even worked in my head piece for the complete affect and didn’t just go ahead with his own plan. He worked with the few pictures that I showed him, and he adapted them to work with my hair and complexion. We tried eye lash extensions, and different make up colors to ensure I would photograph well on my special day. I had very high expectations from going to many of the top Yorkville Salons and working with a hairstylist from the Bumble and Bumble academy. All of who have subsequently have complimented, on the great job he achieved with my hair and make-up from the posted pictures.

  I'm very shocked by one of the previous reviews!! I've been a customer for a long, long time and I have nothing but amazing things to say about Shawn! Most brides I know who have booked with Ommmh/Shawn have had glowing comments and feedback (much like the other bridal review)!!

  On my wedding day it was very special experience with all the laughter and excitement of getting ready with Shawn. It was planned that Shawn would include my Mom and sister, but he took it all in stride when my Mother in law also needed his services and special touch. My Mom, mother in law and sister were so pleased with his work. Shawn was totally prepared with kit and supplies and able to handle everyone’s generational styles. My sister met Shawn for the first time at the wedding and her husband couldn't get over how stunning she looked with her up-do and make up.
